Château Monconseil Gazin - Blaye Rouge 75cl

£13.95

Red | Blend | 2017 | 13% | Bordeaux

“Monconseil” meaning “My council” - the site where Charlemagne The Magnificent held his peace council in 804 AD after the Battle of Montuzet. The site then became a vineyard which has survived down the centuries and is now in the very capable hands of the 5th generation of the Baudet family, winemakers since 1894.

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. There’s a nice impact of bright cherry fruit on the palate, good immediate freshness and juice though it doesn’t linger too long and there’s only a slight presence of tannins which offer a bit of support at the end.

Perfect Pairing: Steak salad, Bakewell tart, medium cheeses.
